Kate and Adam met each other over 10 years ago in New York City. From NYC to Sydney to Tokyo, these two truly thrive on adventure, the thrill of new opportunities, and experiencing as many epic experiences as possible.

While living in Tokyo, Covid provided an opportunity for Adam to spend a season taking care of a friends lodge up in Tangram Madarao. Throughout the winter, Kate and Adam fell in love with the mountain, local community, and the idea of spending more time in the mountains throughout the year. The experience of caring for a lodge and their love of mountain living created a pull to build their vision for The Brueys to share all they love about their village and the Japanese Alps with others.

After 2 years of research, learning about hotel ownership, and connecting with local lodge owners to explore purchasing properties, they were able to purchase The Brueys!

Bruey took on the incredible task of renovating all 700 Square meters of the Brueys to create a true vintage heaven- 11 guest rooms, a retail store, full restaurant and bar, and much more!
