Katsura Family Room
Katsura is a flagrant wood that smells of cinnamon or sandalwood and is calming on the nervous system. The Katsura Family Room at The Brueys is bigger than our standard room and can comfortably accommodate up to four adults. The room is more than 23m² in size, which is larger than most lodges/chalets in the mountains, and comes with a private bathroom equipped with a toilet, shower, and bathtub, as well as a wardrobe.
You can choose from different bed configurations such as King, King & 2 Single, or Quad Single, and we guarantee that our high-quality sheets, pillows, and duvets will provide you with the most comfortable sleep after your day on the mountain. The Kintsugi Room
Welcome to our Kintsugi Room! Kintsugi is a Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery with powdered gold to make the piece more beautiful in it's "imperfect state". Welcome to our Atari room! Doesn't it remind you of vintage 80's memories? Japan was where Atari, the legendary gaming system, was born and this feature wall takes us back to the mid century goodness of that time. Welcome to our Shibori Room! Shibori is an ancient Japanese tradition of indigo dying of various textiles. The idea is that there is perfection in the imperfection of the dying process and how each garment comes to life. We have nodded to this tradition through our fabulous feature wall! Kiku Room
The 2-bedroom set-up
Kiku means "Chrysanthemum" in Japanese and has a deep historical and symbolic meaning in Japanese culture. It's the symbol of the sun, perfection, long life, power, and nobility. This room gets the most beautiful view of Mt. Myoko and on the blue bird days, the sun shines right through the window and fills the room- true perfection!
The 2-bedroom at The Brueys is a spacious 33m² room that comfortably accommodates 4 adults and 2 children, making it perfect for families. This room comes with a private bathroom that includes a toilet, shower, bath. Kiku 2 bedroom also features additional storage - a wardrobe, suitcase storage, and additional hanging space and folding space as needed in the second bedroom.
The master room can be configured as a King or 2 singles. The 2nd bedroom has a set of bunk beds (for children only), and you can choose between a king or 2 single beds in addition to the bunk bed. Both rooms feature luxury linens and pillows to ensure a good night's sleep after a long day on the mountain. The Gigi Room
Welcome to our Gigi Room! Kate's mom's nickname for her was Gigi and they spent hours in her rose garden together taking care of her coral and red rose bushes. Welcome to our Golden Hour room! Japanese gardens represent a lot of cultural pride in Japan. Adam and I love walking through and admiring all of the gardens in the area and are in awe of how they survive through all the POW! That 70’s Room
We love everything vintage inspired. This wallpaper takes us back to Saturday mornings, making pancakes, and listening to Phil Collins records with our families. Kate's parents had a massive orange velvet couch growing up that she regularly made forts out of with her sisters and the orange in this feature wall matches it exactly. We had to create a room around this epic print!

The Bauhaus Room
Kate spent wayyyyy too many hours in the basement of UC Berkeley studying slides for her Art History major. One of her favorite movements (which she also wrote her thesis on) was about The Bauhaus which was an art movement stemming from an Art School- from 1913 to 1933. The Bauhaus movement was known for merging all artistic mediums into one unified approach combining individual artistry and mass production and function. Bauhaus design is known for it's abstract, angular, and geometric touches with some ornamentation thrown in as well. The feature wall in this room is incredible and the touch of rich green in the carpet makes it a dream...we LOVE this room!

The Maple Room
Maple was the name of this lodge when it was first built in 1992! We wanted to nod to the original heritage of the building (all wood was imported from Canada) and also acknowledge the peaceful nature of this room - in Japanese culture the Maple signifies peace.
